Hamburg - The Spaniard Sergio Alvarez Moya has only just been celebrated as the winner of the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Berlin and preparations are already in full swing for the next German leg of the world's most highly endowed show jumping series. From August 26 to 29, 2021, the Longines Global Champions Tour and the GCL Team Competition will make a stop in Hamburg. With his triumph, Sergio Alvarez Moya has taken the lead in the rankings and punched his ticket for the LGCT Super Grand Prix in Prague in November, but he doesn't want to rest on his laurels, but rather continue to collect points at the next stages. Christian Ahlmann, Marcus Ehning and Ludger Beerbaum, who are still keen to collect points in the Tour and for their respective teams and who know the excellent conditions in Hamburg, have also already confirmed their participation in the stage in Hamburg-Klein Flottbek.

"Above all, however, we are looking forward to the fact that we have seen in Berlin that we can very well hold an event in compliance with the Corona protection regulations," explained organizer Volker Wulff. For the tournament in Hamburg, Wulff added, talks with all those responsible had gone very well, "and we are planning on several thousand spectators per day over four tournament days." "The anticipation for Hamburg has grown even more after Berlin, because we now know very well that it works and how nice it is to finally enjoy a tournament atmosphere again. And the riders are enormously pleased to finally be able to ride in front of an audience again, they've missed that immensely."

Tickets for the international five-star show jumping tournament in Hamburg-Klein Flottbek can be reserved directly through the organizing agency EN GARDE Marketing at www.engarde.de/events/lgct-hamburg.
Part of the hygiene concept, by the way, is that visitors (from the age of 6) must comply with the German GGG rules, i.e. show that they have tested negative, have recovered or have been vaccinated. A corresponding proof (paper or digital) has to be shown at the entrance.
